Dr Kat Urban is a Palliative Care Physician working in the Northern Rivers, having relocated from Sydney in 2021. She completed her medical school training in the United Kingdom at Cambridge University and University College London in 2002, followed by 2 years working in London. She relocated to Australia in 2005 where she completed her Physician Training at Prince of Wales Hospital. She completed specialist Palliative Medicine training in 2012, gaining Fellowship of the RACP and Chapter of Palliative Medicine.
Kat worked as a Specialist in the field at Greenwich and Concord Hospitals, and as Head of Department at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.
Kat moved to the Northern Rivers in 2021 and has been working at Lismore Base Hospital since. She has a strong focus on holistic patient care and partnering with patients and their loved ones to enable people with a serious illness to live to the fullest. She has a special interest in managing cancer related symptoms, renal supportive care and fatigue research.
