Cate has extensive experience working with children, teens, and adults. She enjoys working across the lifespan with people with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (including assessment for Autism)
  • Anxiety, OCD
  • Depression
  • Parenting and child/teen behaviour difficulties
  • Adjustment difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Other mental health conditions
  • A desire for improved mental wellbeing

Cate also conducts assessments and testing for: learning disorders; giftedness; IQ/cognitive tests (WISC, WAIS); Autism Spectrum Disorders; ADHD.​

Cate is a client centered, warm and collaborative therapist who utilises a variety of practice approaches depending on client needs and preferences. Her therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical and Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Cate has worked for a number of years in private practice and has also worked at Belmont Private Psychiatric Hospital, Brisbane. Cate is a sessional lecturer in psychology at Griffith University, Brisbane and Gold Coast. Before becoming a psychologist, Cate was a primary school teacher and hence is passionate about working with children and families.
